Engineering Manager · Product, Platform, AI & Data Infrastructure
Engineering Manager for data and SaaS platforms: 15+ years building teams (1→12 engineers), leading $8M+ modernizations, and turning stalled teams into predictable, product-minded ones. AI obsessed.
I'm looking for my next Engineering Manager role, leading engineers who build and run the systems a business depends on. These are the four areas where my experience fits best.
I built Olo's data infrastructure organization from 1 to 12 engineers and ran 20 TB of Snowflake and 10 TB of Redshift. Before that, I led a 29-month, $8M+ migration from Teradata to Redshift.
I've led B2B SaaS domain teams at Olo in Ordering, Delivery, and Menu. That work shipped Split Pay with zero platform regressions, recaptured $490K in revenue at risk, and cut "Never Delivered" errors by 23%.
I directed the greenfield build of "The Emporium," an internal data Platform-as-a-Service. I also set the AI strategy for Olo's Menu Admin product and used AI in discovery to get prototypes built in a day.
I've kept microservices platforms reliable at scale. At Olo, I standardized HttpClient use across services to end socket exhaustion, and host-fleet orchestration cut provisioning MTTR by 38% and restarts from 40 minutes to 4.
What I'm looking for: a people-leadership role owning one or more engineering teams, with real accountability for delivery, reliability, and business outcomes. Remote (US).
Olo | Senior Product Engineering Manager
Led three B2B SaaS domain teams in sequence: Ordering Scale & Performance, Delivery, and Menu. Turned around an underperforming Delivery vertical with clear execution standards and a debt-reduction strategy, which restored predictability and stakeholder trust. Recaptured $490K in revenue at risk and shipped the "Split Pay" rollout with zero platform regressions.
Olo | Senior Product Engineering Manager
Brought AI into discovery and project planning, which produced single-day prototypes and got customer feedback two months earlier than usual. Set the AI integration strategy for the Menu Admin product, and the resulting plan solved four times as many customer problems in the same timeframe.
Olo | Senior Engineering Manager, Data Infrastructure & Engineering
Built the foundational data infrastructure vertical from 1 to 12 engineers. Directed the greenfield build of "The Emporium," a Platform-as-a-Service that democratized large-scale data processing. Split the team into two independent verticals, decoupling work streams with clear change-management practices.
Subway | Senior Engineering Manager, Data Architecture
Led 29-month, $8M+ Teradata (on premises) to Amazon Redshift (cloud) migration. Directed 3 domestic engineering teams and 2 contractor partners — a 30+ person organization across 3 continents. Complete schema redesign and successful platform modernization.
Most engineering leaders talk about "velocity." I talk about value.
I have spent my career at the intersection of complex systems and business growth. If your engineering team feels like a "black box" where features go in and nothing comes out, or if there is a wall of distrust between your Product and Engineering departments, I'm the person who tears that wall down. I build engineering cultures obsessed with the "Why" behind every line of code.
Three years ago, I took action on a piece of advice that I received from a former Subway (Franchise World Headquarters) CIO that changed my career trajectory. He told me that truly elite engineering leaders don't just manage technical debt; they speak the native language of the business.
I took that advice literally.
I expanded my scope. Over the past three years, I've owned technical roadmaps and led architectural rollouts across three product domains, sitting in the meetings where revenue targets are set, translating business trade-offs into engineering decisions, and staying accountable for the systems underneath. This wasn't a step away from engineering. It was engineering leadership exercised from inside the business.
Today, I lead as a "bilingual" engineering leader. I bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy in a way traditional candidates cannot. I don't just deliver projects. I deliver business outcomes.
I specialize in fixing broken processes. I've stepped into organizations where the relationship between Product and Engineering was non-existent. By implementing high-transparency workflows and refocusing the team on customer impact, I turn frustrated developers into product-minded engineers.
I believe that when an engineer understands the business impact of their feature, they build better software. It's that simple.
I'm looking for my next Engineering Manager role in data infrastructure, SaaS product engineering, AI and platform engineering, or software engineering. If your team needs a leader who can hire and grow engineers, get delivery predictable, and connect the roadmap to revenue, I'd like to hear about the role.
In an interview or intro call, I'm glad to walk through the frameworks I've used to rebuild trust and output on the teams I've led:
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Owner and Property Manager
